Job Description:
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Editor focused on Home Improvement with exceptional journalistic and digital platform skills for our award-winning and industry-leading Pro Remodeler (PR) media brand. The Senior Editor: Home Improvement is responsible for building and maintaining a large, robust, and influential community of home improvement professionals for the Pro Remodeler media brand.
What You’ll Do:
Create content (written, verbal, video podcasts, curated and social media) to serve the home improvement industry’s needs
Network with company owners and other professionals to create excitement for the Pro Remodeler brand and related products
Find speakers for Pro Remodeler’s events, give presentations, attend industry gatherings, and, in general, act as the “face of Pro Remodeler” for the brand’s home improvement audience
Develop content for home improvement professionals attending Pro Remodeler conferences
Assist in the creation of industry research as needed
Develop and facilitate educational offerings for home improvement industry professionals
Attend home improvement events as needed
Other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking for:
4-7 years’ experience in media or content-creation for an established brand (this includes blogging to a large audience or content creation for a Youtube channel.)
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, preferably in a writing-intensive major such as Journalism, English, Communications, Media, History, etc.
Strong writing skills including the ability to use style, tone, and voice to appeal to a target audience
Prior experience leading a project or initiative
Experience working with small businesses preferred, but not required
Some knowledge of business practices highly preferred
Ability to network and build community
Highly proficient at creating engaging content across various platforms
Excellent understanding of digital media
Ability to juggle rapidly shifting priorities and thrive under deadline pressure
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated project management skills
Superb attention to detail
